Mother is a 1989 role-playing game developed by Ape and published by Nintendo, part of the Earthbound series. It released on Family Computer and Wii U, holding a 7.9 / 10 aggregate score.
The original Japanese version of EarthBound Beginnings, released only in Japan for the Famicom, had some gameplay, story and level layout differences from the later Western port. This original version was never released outside of Japan.

Story
Mother follows the young Ninten as he uses his great-grandfather's studies on psychic powers to fight hostile, formerly inanimate objects and other enemies. His adventure leads him to new friends and eventually uncovering an alien plot that must be stopped.
